Sample Program Itinerary

Sailors arrive at dock
Pre-Sail Orientation – includes vessel orientation and safety briefing
Underway
  Where be yer best mate? – This activity involves identifying each sailor’s best friend and introduces the sailors to the theme for the day.
  Find The Treasure Ye Seek – sailors use nautical charts and navigational equipment to find the treasure chest that is Pine Key Island
  Know Yer Vessel Matey – through crew mentoring and instruction, sailors learn the tools and language of sailing
  Sailors Take The Helm – is it mutiny or helm training? Each sailor takes a turn at the wheel.
  All Knotted Up – this activity teaches sailors nautical knot tying
  Buccaneer Brigade – during this timed activity, sailors will work in teams to see who can capture the most fresh water for their thirsty mate.
Land Ho!
  Shipshape – during this exercise, sailors learn how to secure the sails and rigging and clearing the decks after the sail
  Grub Time - Lunch on deck
  Jollyboat Ride – our teams of novice sailors work together to navigate the dingy from ship to shore.
  Island Invasion for The Queen’s Bounty – takes us through the different types of debris and the life cycle of trash and its effects on the marine environment
  Shark Bait or Shipside? This timed exercise involves a blindfolded captain on the dinghy directed by the sailors to get back to the boat. This activity hones communication and team leadership skills.

  Sailor Swap – teams switch jobs and train each other on Find The Treasure Ye Seek & Know Yer Vessel Matey
  Sailors Take The Helm – is it mutiny or helm training? Each sailor takes a turn at the wheel.
  Scallywag Out T’Sea – sailors work together to rescue a shipwreck survivor
  Buccaneer Debrief – each sailor discusses best, worst and takeaways about the adventure
  Land Ho!
  Shipshape – during this exercise, sailors secure the sails and rigging and clearing the decks after the day’s sail
  Captain’s Council is time spent on story telling and talk led by Captain Ron, where he wraps up the theme of the day
  Sea Dog Salute - back at the marina, we celebrate the end of the day acknowledge each team and sailor’s successes
